Henderson’s Senior Resource Center can help older residents identify food and benefits resources. County assistance and regional housing programs use separate applications. Start with the service you need and check whether an existing application or waiting-list entry already covers it.

Henderson Senior Resource Center

Henderson Senior Resource Center offers referrals for housing, utilities, and food, plus Medicare counseling information. Its supplemental-food program is for qualifying low-income Henderson residents age 60 or older. The page lists identification and income documents and warns against duplicate CSFP applications at different distribution sites. Ask about the waiting list and current enrollment arrangements.

County Assistance Beyond Senior Programs

Clark County Social Services links to rental and utility help, food resources, and homeless-service information. Use the county’s program pages to identify the appropriate request. Explain any immediate concern and ask what intake is available; the senior center’s referral does not replace a county application or establish approval.

Housing Options Serving Henderson

Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority includes Henderson in its Clark County service area. The regional authority has different rental programs and application tools. Ask whether the option is a tenant-based voucher or assistance tied to a property, which list is open, and whether the application goes through RentCafe or the property itself.

Before You Contact a Program

  • For senior food assistance, disclose any existing CSFP application.
  • Check the residence and household requirements for the specific program.
  • Retain application details and watch for requests for documents.

Federal Benefits and Next Steps

Apply for SSDI[1] or SSI[2] through the Social Security Administration. Local resource programs have separate applications and do not decide federal disability benefits.

For the federal process, read our Disability Application Guide and Document Preparation Checklist.
