Spokane residents can use regional aging and disability navigation, the Spokane Housing Authority, and Spokane Transit Paratransit. These resources serve overlapping but different areas. A county address alone does not confirm that a particular paratransit trip is inside the transit boundary.

Aging and Disability Navigation

Aging and Long Term Care of Eastern Washington serves Spokane through a regional network and Community Living Connections. Its information service can help identify caregiving, nutrition, and community-support resources. Explain the need and where services are required, then confirm the referred program’s eligibility, cost, and current intake.

Housing and Rental Resources

Spokane Housing Authority provides different pathways for people seeking affordable housing, facing eviction or homelessness, or already receiving housing assistance. Choose the relevant pathway and check the program’s location and application instructions. A regional authority website is not proof that every property or waiting list is available to every applicant.

Spokane Transit Paratransit

Spokane Transit Paratransit is an accessible shared-ride service for eligible people unable to use regular buses. The application requires a provider-verification section. Both ends of a trip must be in the defined service area, even when the rider lives outside it. Check the map and booking guidance before making travel plans.

Before You Contact a Program

  • Describe the need and service location to Community Living Connections.
  • Distinguish a housing application from an existing tenant or eviction concern.
  • Check both paratransit addresses and the required provider-verification information.

Federal Benefits and Next Steps

Apply for SSDI[1] or SSI[2] through the Social Security Administration. Local resource programs have separate applications and do not decide federal disability benefits.

For the federal process, read our Disability Application Guide and Document Preparation Checklist.
