State & City Resources
Green Bay, Wisconsin: Disability Resources
On This Page
Green Bay residents can reach disability-resource guidance through Brown County’s ADRC, food assistance through county economic support, and paratransit through Green Bay Metro. Confirm the application and service boundaries for each; a county address alone does not establish transit eligibility.
ADRC of Brown County
The ADRC’s disability-services page explains help identifying local resources and comparing options. Staff can discuss benefits, denied-benefit questions, and possible next steps. Phone, in-person, virtual, and email contact are available. Bring the notice or question you need help understanding, and ask about the specialist appropriate for your age and circumstances.
Brown County FoodShare
County FoodShare instructions identify four application routes: ACCESS online, the Bay Lake Consortium by phone, a paper application by mail or fax, and in-person county service in Green Bay. Benefits depend on household circumstances. Check the page for current submission details and ask how to supply requested verification or follow up on a notice.
Green Bay Metro Paratransit
Metro’s eligibility page provides online and printable applications, including Spanish and Somali versions. Applicants also need the medical release and professional-verification steps described there. One application can request both Metro and Curative Connections services, but submission does not guarantee eligibility. Ask staff to confirm the appropriate service, coverage, and any further assessment before planning a ride.
Before You Contact a Program
- Use Brown County contacts for local resource or benefit questions.
- Have any benefit decision and its deadline available for guidance.
- Complete the transit application and professional-verification steps; confirm both trip addresses.
Keep Federal Benefits Separate
County programs and transit applications remain separate from the federal disability claim. SSA’s Disability page[1] explains SSDI; SSA’s SSI overview[2] explains SSI. Apply for federal benefits through SSA. Starting a local service application does not file an SSDI or SSI claim.
