Casper, Wyoming: Disability Resources
On This Page
Casper residents can start with the housing authority for rental assistance, the senior center for older-adult support, and Casper Area Transit for travel. Check current instructions before relying on an online portal: the housing authority’s site labels several proposed portal tools as coming soon.
Housing Assistance and Applications
Casper Housing Authority offers housing assistance, rental properties, and supportive services for low-income households. Its website identifies applicant, tenant, and waiting-list portals as coming soon. Contact the authority for the current application or update process instead of assuming a displayed portal label is a working submission route.
Natrona County Senior Services
Casper Senior Center supports adults age 60 and older with meals, activities, and community resources. Its Wyoming Home Services and family-caregiver programs address needs such as homemaking, personal care, and respite. Ask about assessment, current intake, and the appropriate program rather than assuming membership provides every service.
LINK and ASSIST Transportation
Casper Area Transit provides fixed-route LINK and door-to-door ASSIST services. The city lists lift-equipped vehicles and a reduced-fare application process. Check route changes and ask which service fits the trip, whether advance arrangements are necessary, and what evidence is needed for any reduced fare.
Before You Contact a Program
- Confirm the housing authority’s current application route before submitting information.
- Describe the older adult’s support needs and Natrona County residence.
- For transit, check both addresses, current notices, and any accessibility requirements.
Federal Benefits and Next Steps
Apply for SSDI[1] or SSI[2] through the Social Security Administration. Local resource programs have separate applications and do not decide federal disability benefits.
For the federal process, read our Disability Application Guide and Document Preparation Checklist.
